Meet Our Apprentice, Nathan

This week is National Apprenticeship Week (7th – 13th February) so what way to better celebrate than to interview some of our apprentices to see how their role with CHILL Gas is helping them in their career goals.

First up is Nathan. Nathan has been with CHILL Gas since the beginning of his apprenticeship two years ago and has gone from strength to strength within the company. The level of knowledge he has acquired in a short space of time is nothing short of phenomenal and his dedication to his apprenticeship has been evident since the beginning. Nathan combines his role in CHILL Gas with his apprenticeship in Belfast Metropolitan College.

Nathan, why did you decide to apply for CHILL Gas?

Out of all the firm's local to me, CHILL Gas seemed to have the widest skillset within their work, exploring every facet of domestic Plumbing and Heating.

What made you want to work in the Plumbing & Heating industry?

Looking through University courses and A Levels, it meant an extra 5 years before getting head onto a proper career. The trades offered that immediately. Plumbing and heating specifically seemed to be a rapidly expanding industry with constant innovation and I wanted to get a headstart into the business.

How does your work at CHILL Gas help you in your apprenticeship?

Mentoring and support in CHILL Gas is second to none and the support is always there. What CHILL Gas does differently from other companies, is the degree of independence for apprentices that allows an immense difference in your confidence and ability.

If you could give any apprentice starting out some advice, what would it be?

The only stupid questions are the ones that aren't asked. Be a sponge for knowledge in your work and everything else will fall into place.
